Speaker, I beg to give notice of the following Motion:- THAT, pursuant to Article 166(1)(a) of the Constitution of Kenya, the Public Appointments (Parliamentary approval) Act, 2011 and Standing Order No.216(5)(f), this House adopts the Report of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs laid on the Table of the House on Tuesday, 18th October, 2016 and approves the appointment of Hon. Justice David Kenani Maraga as the Chief Justice (CJ) of the Republic of Kenya."
