Temporary Deputy Chairman, the Committee deliberated severally on all the amendments which are presented as Committee amendments to the Bill. The net effect of the clause, before we amended it as a Committee, was to remove the role of Parliament in oversight, contrary to Articles 94 and 95 of the Constitution. Our proposed amendment to this clause, which is in the Order Paper, seeks to retain the oversight role of the National Assembly."
