    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, pursuant to Standing Order 45(2)(b), I stand to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Sessional Committee on Devolved Government on the disaster of prolonged drought and famine in Tana River County. In the Statement, the Chairperson should state the following:- (1) Whether the Government is aware that there is serious drought, shortage and starvation in Tana River County and, indeed, other parts of the country including Kwale, Kilifi, Taita-Taveta, Kitui, Garissa and Samburu counties. (2) What the national and county governments are doing to support the people affected in the areas and to mitigate the problem. (3) Whether the Government is planning to appoint a special taskforce to investigate the effects and extent of the drought in the country. Thank you."
