Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, if you fly in a chopper, you will see how the land is barren in some areas. If we do not properly utilize the little water that we have, we will just kill ourselves. I stand up as a woman because it is the women who suffer most when water is not available or sufficient. I have just learnt with utmost sadness that one of the women who are camping at the gate delivered a baby without the necessary facilities. We have raised this issue but nothing has been done about it. Lang’ata Constituency, where I have special interests, is suffering because of lack of water. South C Estate gets water only twice a week, which is not sufficient. Why should we allow this? Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I support and congratulate Sen. (Prof.) Anyang'- Nyong'o for coming up with this Motion, which needs to be interrogated thoroughly."
