    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to comment on this Petition by Hon. Jude Njomo. Garbage collection in this country and especially in urban areas is a big problem which has been there for a very long time. It appears that the institutions concerned have never taken the time to come up with a permanent solution to this. If you go to each and every urban area especially here in Nairobi and other big cities, garbage is disposed of near places where people live and in rivers. It is quite a health hazard. It is a big challenge. The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and the authorities concerned, such as the county authorities, should come up with a permanent solution to recycle this refuse and also conserve the riparian areas and streams. Even the waterborne diseases that we get in this country come from the refuse because of this negligence. The NEMA should come up with a permanent solution to this."
