Senators, pursuant to Standing Order No.227(1), the Petition stands committed to the relevant Standing Committee; in this case the Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare. All those issues that the Members have raised will be looked into by the Committee. I am convinced that the matter can be considered by the Senate. That is why I have read the petition. In terms of Standing Order No.227(2), the Committee will be required in not more than 60 days from the time of reading of the prayer respond to the petitioners by way of a report addressed to the petitioners and laid on the Table of the Senate."
