"content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Government the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Is the Minister aware that workers at the Migori Municipal Council have been on strike since Friday 3rd December, 2010, due to three months’ unpaid salary arrears? (b) Could the Minister state the current financial position of the Council, clarify whether there are any funds meant for the Council held by the Ministry and state the measures the Ministry is taking to address the problem and avert recurrence of the same in the future? (c) What is the state of the working relationship between the Chief Officers and the Councillors, and what measures is the Minister taking to restore a functional working relationship?"
