"content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for the opportunity to speak to this Motion. It is a Motion that is so dear to me because I believe it is the way to go and it is the future of the country. A nation is measured by the quality of youth that it is nurturing. As a country, we have a duty and obligation to ensure that we have a country which will be there even after we exit the scene. For a long time, the youth in Kenya have been used during campaigns only. It is a very sad story. That is why at the outset, I would like to support this Motion. I want to thank Hon. Mwaura for a well thought-out Motion, which I believe is the panacea to some of the challenges we are faced with as a country. I am reminded of what the Bible says in the book of John, Chapter 6, Verse 1 to 20 or thereabout. It tells us of the gathering that Jesus had and, indeed, it included leaders, prophets, people who had gone to school and people who had a lot of experience in very many things and the youth. There was one youth who believed in himself and believed in what he had. When time came to have a meal, Jesus asked his prophets and his leaders what to give people who were gathered before them. There were more than 5,000 people. One of the prophets said they had only a few shillings, for lack of a better terminology, which money was not enough to buy bread The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
