Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 55(1)(b) of the Bill be amended by- (i) inserting the words “nuclear power and” immediately after the words “energy and’; (ii) deleting the word “petroleum” appearing immediately after the word “energy and” so that paragraph (b) reads as follows: “(b) carry out research, development and dissemination activities in the energy and nuclear power sector.” Clause 55 of the Bill provides the object and functions of the agency. If you look at sub- clause (1)(b), you will find that it provides a function of the agency. That is very clear. The other one is just bringing in nuclear power which is a serious institution within the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum."
