Therefore, I want to urge the country to remain calm and that the Government is in place and His Excellency the President is fully in charge. I would like to remind all of us that the Cabinet deliberated on this issue and said that the option that remains available to us, in which we believe as a country is that of putting in place a local mechanism so that we can---. Mr. Ruto, the hon. Member for Chepalungu, wonders whether we are still a sovereign Republic. If he feels that we are all challenged in that respect then I think the opportunity for us to reclaim our sovereignty will come very soon but we have to take it upon ourselves to act together as a nation when we are confronted with this challenge. We all know that Kenyans who were affected by violence have been crying out for justice. This is a matter that is important and we cannot ignore it but I think it is important that we get our country back."
