Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 35 of the Bill be amended by deleting the words “be in addition to and not in derogation of the provision of” and substituting therefor the word “supersede.” Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, if we pass this law, it will supersede any other law that deals with contempt of court. We want this to be the principal legislation so that we do not talk about “derogation” since that is not a legal terminology. Thank you."
