    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I beg to move the following Motion: THAT, pursuant to the provisions of Section 13 of the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act, this House resolves to extend the period for consideration of approval of appointment of Archbishop (Rtd) Eliud Wabukala Wamukekhe as the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, notified to this House on Tuesday, 20th December 2016, by a further period of not more than 14 days from 4th January, 2017. The Parliamentary Approval Act requires that this appointment must be approved within 14 days failure to which it takes effect by operation of the fact that we have not acted on it. So, we are requesting to be given another 14 days so that it becomes a total of 28 days. That gives us to around 14th January, 2017."
