"content": "They have exhibited dignity and decorum at all times. I am quoted on this one, and I do not except anything less on this matter. We come here as parliamentarians not to fight but to debate. That is why we have institutions of democracy. We debate and persuade each other and at the end, we vote. I assure you as the Senate Majority Leader said, the minority will have their say and the majority will have their way. That is the democracy I know and the one I will defend through this institution. So, for the police to create unnecessary fear and attention, it is the last thing that we need in this country. I am happy that from your voice reactions - which we do not usually tolerate - they have helped me to determine that you have given assurance to ourselves and to the nation that you will act in the way you are expected. Therefore, nobody else should instill fear in the way we conduct our business. That is the assurance. I promise the media that our proceedings will be live. The media will cover all our proceedings. I direct the Chair of the Committee on National Security and Foreign Relations to investigate so that this matter does not just end here. The Chair should investigate and bring a report to this House on the circumstances under which the police came to Parliament. This is not a police state. This is a democratic state."
