"content": "should engage all stakeholders in the election process and take into consideration all issues that have been raised regarding the contents of this Bill. I wish to draw your attention that pursuant to Standing Order No.29, the Senate Majority Leader has intimated to me that he will be requesting for Special Sittings to be held next week to receive the Report of the Committee. The Senate Majority Leader requests that the Election Laws (Amendment) (No. 3) Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 63 of 2015) be considered at Second Reading, Committee of the Whole and Third Reading in the said Special Sittings. I will be issuing a Gazette Notice to that effect as I have already gotten the requisite numbers. The Standing Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights must therefore proceed with speed and be ready to table its Report on 4th January, 2017 when the Senate is expected to assemble for the Special Sitting."
