"content": "(Sen. (Prof.) Kindiki): Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am one of the students of Sen. Orengo. So, I will ignore that. In my view, the Elections law is the most urgent matter. As you intimated in your own ruling, that subject to other considerations that could be taking place, or that we may consider, there will be reason for the Committee to which you have committed this Bill, to work expeditiously. They must make sure that the requested special sitting or sittings in a week’s time are productive so that we get this matter out of the way of Kenyans and we, as a country move together in unity in the New Year. I asked for this moment just to raise this point of order because certain clarities have to be highlighted. The reason is that there have been extra ordinary sacrifices and discussions that have been going on between the two sides of this House since this matter started polarizing our country to a level of almost tearing us apart. So, this is an issue that, even as the Committee looks at it, must be looked at in that context. I thank my colleagues in both Government and Opposition sides because the issue at stake was threatening to derail the progress that we have made so far. In particular ---"
