When Safaricom was privatised from Telkom Kenya, there is still the five per cent of its shares that nobody knows who owns. We cannot allow these things to happen in this day and age. The only reason this Parliament is set up is to protect the sovereign will of the people of Kenya and exercise it on their behalf. They are the owners of those parastatals. Parliament must approve anything happening to the investments made using taxpayers’ money. Any amendment that deprives the people of Kenya an oversight of their resources must be defeated.
