    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I begin by thanking Hon. Ochieng for coming up with this Motion. I admit that the drought that is currently being experienced across the country is unprecedented. We have never faced this kind of situation for a very long time. In 1984, there was a serious drought. In Tiaty Constituency, the drought that can be equated with the current drought is that of 1957. In the Pokot language, that year is called “ chepuspus .” We lost very many animals including donkeys, which normally do not die easily. We have been caught flatfooted or with our pants down. Something needs to be done to ameliorate the situation. Tiaty Constituency has been the face of this drought.
