I think it is the truth that, indeed, when the Bill was read for the First Time and referred to the Committee, the House was just about to proceed on Christmas recess. I issued an administrative circular suspending the sittings of all Committees so as to allow our staff to take their Christmas holidays. That extended up to the time when the House resumed. Inevitably, I am sure the Committee must have then suffered the effects of not having staff to attend to it. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
