    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.45 (2)(b) to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Education regarding the ongoing strike of lecturers of public universities. In the Statement, the Chairperson should; (i) Inform the Senate on the progress made so far on the lectures Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) 2013-2017; (ii) Explain the efforts being made at ending the impasse; and (iii) State the efforts that have been made by the Cabinet Secretary or Education and the Principal Secretary of the said department of Education in attaining the CBA2013-2017. I thank you."
