As a member of the Committee, I must confess that we have interviewed nominees in the past for various positions, but we were very impressed by this nominee, Dr. Jane Wangui, whom we vetted for the position of Chairperson, CRA. We vetted her and when you look at her credentials, it is needless to repeat what has already been pointed out by the Vice-Chair. We felt that the nominee was over- qualified for the position. We were also quite impressed by her wealth of experience, which she is going to bring into the Commission. She has worked both in the public and private sectors. She started her career at a very young age at the Ministry of Finance and National Treasury as a senior economist. When you listen to her explain or elaborate as she responded to the various questions that we asked, we were quite impressed and felt that the candidate is qualified for the position that she has been nominated to."
