    "content": "Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I beg to move that the Clinical Officers (Training, Registration and Licensing) Bill (National Assembly Bill No.27 of 2016) be now read a Second Time. Clinical officers are trained officers who provide general specialised clinical medicine services in hospitals. Those officers trace the medical history of patients and do physical examination. They order for investigations, interpret the same investigations they have ordered and make a diagnosis for treatment of the disease or injury. Those officers routinely perform medical and surgical procedures and refer patients to other practitioners. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
