First, on behalf of the people of Makueni, I would like to express my sincere condolences to the people of Nyeri and the family of the late Governor Gachagua. Kagwe said it was a smooth transition, there are two provisions of law that appear to be contradictory, particularly where the County Executive Committee (CEC) members under Article 179(7) are required to cease acting as such on the vacancy of the office of county governor."
