"content": "Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, indeed, what Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr. has said is a very important matter in terms of the transition by a deputy governor to the position of the governor. Because of that, the Office sought an opinion from the Attorney-General regarding the method and process of transition and also whether the appointed CECs will continue in the office or not. The opinion that has been given to the County Government of Nyeri is that what Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr. is saying is true to the extent that if you appoint a new Government, then the vetting process will have to be done again. However, there is also the fact that if you are continuing with the same County Executive Committee members (CECs) who have been vetted already, given that the purpose of vetting was to determine their suitability for office, then it is not necessary for them to go through a vetting process all over again. That is only in provision because they had been vetted before. That is the opinion that has been given to us by the Attorney-General’s office."
