    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Bill. Let me congratulate my colleague, Hon. Grace Kiptui, for bringing this Bill which touches on the essence of life and the foundation of the human race. We, in a developing country, need to lay strong foundations for our children so that we can, at least, assure ourselves that we will have good future leaders, parents and people who will see this country move forward. Basic education should be made compulsory and patronised by everybody. Those who refuse to take their children to school or deny a child education should be punished according to the law."
