Temporary Deputy Speaker, on behalf of the Leader of the Majority Party and pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(a), I rise to give the following Statement regarding the business appearing before the House for the week beginning Tuesday, 28th March 2017: The HBC met on Tuesday this week at the rise of the House to prioritize the business for consideration on Tuesday next week. The House is expected to consider the Report of the Budget and Appropriations Committee on the Budget Estimates for the Financial Year 2017/2018. Also prioritized for consideration are the election-related regulations. These include: i. Draft Elections (Technology) Regulations, 2017; ii. Draft Elections (Voter Registration) (Amendment) Regulations. 2017; iii. Draft Elections (General Regulations) (Amendment) Regulations, 2017; iv. Draft Elections (Voter Education) Regulations, 2017; v. Draft Elections (Party Primaries and Party Lists) Regulations, 2017. On the same day, the HBC has scheduled for debate a Report of the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations, regarding the Marrakesh Treaty. Should we not conclude it today, then we will have to continue with it come Tuesday next week. Thereafter, we will do the Second Reading of the Office of the Attorney-General (Amendment) Bill 2017, the Nairobi International Financial Centre Bill 2017 and the President’s Award Bill 2017. Finally, the HBC will convene on Tuesday, 28th March 2017 at the rise of the House to consider the business for the coming week. I now wish to lay the Statement on the Table of the House.
