    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I also want to thank the Senator for Nandi and the petitioners for bringing up this long standing issue of historical injustice. Indeed, this community has suffered for many years and the suffering that was meted on the Talai continues to affect their descendants. This issue needs to be addressed urgently by the Government. It is unfortunate that 50 years after Independence, it has not been addressed. This is only one case. There are many others. There are certain communities in this country that were completely displaced. I have in mind a community like the Sabaot otherwise then known as the Elgon Maasai who were indigenous residents of Trans-Nzoia County.
