"content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. This is an important amendment because Kenyans have been conned several times. The proposed amendment will streamline and bring order in the practice. If there is any misbehaviour by the advocates, the LSK can withdraw their services. It is important to have control measures. Recently in the medical field, the Cabinet Secretary (CS) and the Principal Secretary (PS) failed to end the doctors’ strike and the association came up with measures to bring sanity. It is important to have this within professional bodies. We have had qualified advocates conning people in the villages when it comes to matters of transactions. Money is paid, but the lawyers disappear with it. The LSK will now help when people raise such complaints. I support."
