    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.45(2)(b) to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights regarding participation of Cabinet and Principal Secretaries in political party activities. In the Statement, the Chairperson should: (a) Explain why Cabinet and Principal Secretaries continue to involve themselves in political party activities in contravention of the principle set out in Chapter Six of the Constitution and in blatant violation of the Public Officers Ethics Act and the Leadership and Integrity Act; (b) Cite instances where the above violation has been reported; (c) State the steps being taken so as to ensure that these incidences cease and neutrality and public confidence in the respective offices is restored."
