"content": "When a policeman goes to work in the morning, he does not know whether he will come back home because he is going to face a lot of violence out there. Many of them are in the streets manning motorists and so on. Sometimes, people are involved in accidents and bleed, but they do not have gloves to handle them. Therefore, their exposure to danger is extremely high. It is for this reason that this Amendment Bill has come at the right time with a big shock to me. Before, I read this, I assumed police officers are taken care of medically. When I read this Amendment Bill, it occurred to me that it is coming too late. The labour laws require that any employee must be given protection and a medical cover. It is surprising to see this today, many years after the civil servants were given medical compensation."
