    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. It is very encouraging that we are finally seeing petitions coming to this House from members of the public and governors. This is perhaps an indication that finally they have woken up to the reality that the Senate is there for the purpose of defending, protecting and championing the interests of the counties. They should also be able to avail themselves to account for the funds that the Senate allocates to them. The Petition from Makueni County is very pertinent and it raises issues of accountability. I hope the Committee that has been tasked with that responsibility will act quickly to ensure that accountability is ensured in Makueni County and other counties."
