    "content": "I thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. There are chronological advantages in life and I appreciate to have this one. I think the proposed amendment is fundamentally sound. I have absolutely no squabbles with the drive towards some form of gender parity as agreed for the time being that not more than two-thirds… Therefore, it is seeking to have just one-third of the other. In nature, it is, of course, about 50 to 50. That should happen naturally. That is not where we are headed to right now. Hopefully, it will come by itself in the long run. However, right now, this is just a minimal one that I think we can enforce. So, let us go for it. My colleagues have already hinted to the mathematical problem of how the drafting was done. Basically, if we are seeking to achieve outcomes right from where we are now, we should say that the National Assembly has 290 Members in the various constituencies. For example, we cannot predict now how many will be of which gender as they go to the August elections. In the August election, we will have 47 women as well who will be elected. We know that number. We will also have an additional 12 people who are going to be nominated to represent various interests. They have a gender.
