    "content": "As I conclude, I want to say this. On the Floor of this House, I have many times spoken about the need for investigative committees to remain true to their calling and avoid acts that may appear like oversight banditry and gangsterism. I still hold that view. However, even as I hold that view, I think that even as we urge the Committees to stay within their mandates, this House must also find ways to deal with the growing habit by key witnesses to resort to besmirching the names of members of the Committees, the Committees themselves and by extension – because committees are appendages of Parliament – the institution of Parliament. I want to believe that such conduct must be seen in the proper context as being no more than attempts at mob lynching and barbarism and vain attempts to whip up public emotions against committees and the institution of Parliament."
