    "content": "Hon. Speaker, Hon. Onyura has just taken words out of my mouth. Some of us who are seeking offices outside this House may not directly be affected by these Standing Orders, but I think laws are made for posterity and not individuals. That is why even with that knowledge, I was not keen on defending my seat. I proposed amendments. The request by Hon. Onyura is fair. Maybe what Hon. Musimba did not know – he is my friend as everyone knows – is that in the line of our duty, we must follow procedures. For example, I have amendments. I have seen how they have been dealt with. That does not prevent me from even proposing further amendments. So, I kindly request your indulgence and that of my colleagues in the House that we get a little bit more time. I can see the Standing Orders are attempting to deal with the provisions in the Constitution, which makes it mandatory for Members who miss eight sittings to lose their seats. I think this is an important thing. I have even attempted to propose a constitutional amendment to that, which I knew was a tall order."
