    "content": "One of the biggest improvements of these amendments is the inclusion of Standing Order No.44, which says that a Member of Parliament can seek a statement from the chairperson of a committee. That is a very good improvement. We have had issues where we have tried to seek statements from Cabinet Secretaries, which have not been forthcoming. The provision for members of Parliament to seek statements on matters related to the Committee, or on issues affecting their constituencies, is an added advantage."
