Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Standing Order No.44 be amended in paragraph (2) by inserting the following new subparagraph immediately after subparagraph (b)– “(c) A Member may request for a statement from the Committee chairperson relating to matters under the mandate of the Committee and the Speaker may either appoint a day for the statement or direct that the statement be issued on the same day. The intention is to provide a chance to any Member to request a statement from a Committee chairperson, which provision was not there."
