    "content": " Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to confirm that the negotiations between Equity Bank and Kenya Sugar Board have been ongoing for a long time. Indeed, the Member was right because according to the records, this is a matter which should have been sorted out as far back as the year 2003. These protracted discussions, I am told, were delayed because there were many issues to be resolved involving other Ministries. I am pleased to inform him that as of 18th November, last week, the matter has been resolved and Equity Bank will now lend directly to farmers on behalf of the Kenya Sugar Board."
