I am unable to support this Report in its current state given the seriousness and the fundamental nature of the recommendations that has been made, more so recommendations number 4 to 7. I have proposed an amendment. If it is approved, I will move it to ensure that the Report is revised into a form that can be supported. The EALA is very important to this country. Perhaps Kenyans do not understand just how important the EALA is. It is strengthening, widening and deepening East African relations. It should be understood that EALA is at the centre of legislation in the East African Community is concerned. My concern, however, is the basis on which Recommendation No.3 was arrived. The recommendation says that CORD The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor."
