    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I would also like to add my voice in support of the Amendment Bill. We all know that the work of the police force is very crucial to the security of the country that we must maintain at all cost. Policemen and policewomen stay out in the cold at night and go to great lengths to ensure that our families and properties are protected. It is incumbent upon us to ensure that they also benefit from the job that they carry out. The Amendment Bill is very clear. The most important thing about it is the protection of members while on duty. Many of them die when performing their official duties. They are killed, maimed and undergo stressful situations that create mental illnesses. I support the fact that this treatment should go beyond their working life. This is because most of these traumatic experiences affect them for the remainder of their lives. Their families are always left destitute. It is important that when members of the force die, their families should be supported in all ways possible especially in the education of their children and maintenance of their families.
