    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Amendment Bill on the National Police Service. It is true that the Police Service has a very bad image. When you talk about the Police Force in this country, you straightaway begin to look down upon them .That is because of the nature of their work. First, the police officers in this country are underpaid and their lifestyles are so low compared to what we expect of them. That is why many of them are seen as corrupt. The image one gets from the police officers is that they are destitutes, corrupt people and do a bad job. Not many young people would like to join the police service because they are underpaid and work under very difficult circumstances. Many of them work very far away from their families, live in small houses and have difficult lifestyles."
