Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Standing Order 254 be amended— (a) in paragraph (1) by inserting the words “or Chairperson” immediately after the word “Speaker”; (b) in paragraph (2) by inserting the words “or Chairperson” immediately after the word “Speaker”; (c) in paragraph (3) by inserting the words “or Chairperson” immediately after the word “Speaker”. This is meant to strengthen the authority of a chairperson of a committee to exclude any person from the proceedings of a Committee."
