A small tea farmer in Kericho or Kiambu grows tea there but they do not determine the price they are paid. The middlemen get everything and most of the big estates are owned by the multinationals. So, when you hear that Kenya is the second largest tea producer, it is not the black Kenyans who produce it. It is the “yellow” Kenyans who produce it."
