It is an honour and a privilege to serve in this bicameral Parliament and to serve in both Chambers, namely, in the 11th Parliament as a nominated Senator and in the 12th Parliament as the Member for Gilgil. I want to take this chance to thank the people of Gilgil for voting for me to be their Member of Parliament, overwhelmingly with 80 per cent. I also thank God for this auspicious opportunity to serve the people of Gilgil and Kenya. I also want to take this chance to congratulate my colleagues who have been elected to this august House from all over the country. I also take this chance to congratulate you for being elected, unopposed, as our Deputy Speaker. As a Member from Nakuru County, we are very proud of you. We are looking forward to a very vibrant House under your leadership. I also congratulate the Speaker, Hon. Justin Muturi, for being voted overwhelmingly as our Speaker. In fact, my son watched that vote and when I got home, he told me: “Mum, there was something on television. They were just saying"
