    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me the opportunity to give my speech. I am Hon. George Kariuki from Ndia Constituency. I am very happy and grateful to God for this opportunity. I remember when I was a young boy, immediately after high school waiting to go to college, anytime I would be in town doing nothing, I would come here and sit in the Public Gallery and enjoy the debates of our seasoned politicians then. I did not know that God was pointing me to this direction. So, when I am here seated, I really give thanks to God and the people of Ndia Constituency. Hon. Deputy Speaker, reflecting on the President’s Speech two days ago, I see a Speech that was quite refreshing. Unlike the Opposition which has really dillydallied in giving direction and even in providing names of those who should be in committees, the President thought so much about this country. He did not indulge in what we see our competitors do every day giving empty rhetoric which will not take this country anywhere. I find some of the habits that we are engaging in being not only hypocritical, but nauseating. That is because this country needs to be united and should be allowed to plough on because we have a lot to do for our people. Our people are hurting, hungry and have so many needs. It is not time to engage in unproductive activities and words. It is time to sit together, reason together and see how we can build this country and make it a better place for our people. Hon. Deputy Speaker, the President’s Speech was refreshing because he touched on the pillars that hold our country together. If you look at this building, you will see and know that we are comfortably seated here.
