    "content": "I also want to touch a bit on the independent institutions we have in the country. It has taken us time to come up with independent institutions. They have to be independent and seen to be so. They must appreciate their independence. However, if they allow them to be interfered with by external forces, then they cannot say that they are independent. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission is supposed to conduct free and fair elections. I remember that immediately after that judgment by the Supreme Court, the chairman of IEBC held a Press conference and said he would invite the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to investigate IEBC before he comes up with a conclusion. Later on, he wrote a memo to the secretariat meaning that he did not wait for the DPP to do his work. It shows that he had some more information from the judgment or ruling. It also means that he knew exactly what was going on in the Supreme Court. Most likely, this outcome vindicates what we are talking about."
