"content": "I will not overemphasize the fact that Kenyans woke up very early in the morning to queue and vote on that particular day. Actually, they voted. Just before the voting day, this House, together with the Senate, formed a Joint Select Committee which deliberated on a number of amendments to be made to our electoral laws. Those amendments were supposed to cure the perennial problem that this county has been facing regarding rigged elections. We saw it fit to discuss the matter because we felt that for this country to move forward and enjoy peace, we need credible, transparent, accountable, verifiable and accurate elections that would stand the test of time."
