    "content": "There are various treaties on the Nile that have been ratified by countries that are along the Nile. There was the Nile Treaty of 1902, the Nile Treaty of 1929 and the Nile Treaty of 1959. All of these treaties relate to the use of the waters of River Nile. These treaties say that no country should use the river in a way that disadvantages other countries. The Nile Treaty covers Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Democratic Republic Congo (DRC), Egypt, Burundi, Eritrea, Rwanda and Tanzania. All these countries in one way or another are covered by the Nile Treaty. Every treaty that was done must not disadvantage any of the countries. The Nile is the longest river in the world. It extends to over 10 African countries. As I have said, it needs its management. How do you manage the water of the Nile? What was the rationale? What was the objective of this protocol? This protocol was handled by the Regional Integration Committee of the 11th Parliament and they have tabled their report.
