I support the Election Laws (Amendment) Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 39 of 2017) because it addresses what is to happen if a rogue election official decides to destroy this country by refusing to announce the winner of an election. In such a situation, we can revert to the Vice Chairman or other officials to announce the winner. We need to worry about this country at a time like this when things are not normal. We have some of the legislators demonstrating on our streets, calling for the sacking of election officials.
