You may just want to squat there but you need to convince me that you want to be on the land and do something with it. Once I am convinced that there are adequate and appropriate plans for the use of that land, then, I will do the needful. But I also want to say that in view of what he had said about evictions, we are trying to develop some guidelines for evictions in terms of the new Constitution. It is not enough that somebody gets an order from court and mobilizes policemen who then go and shoot people and burn houses for purposes of eviction. If you have let people squat or settle in your land for ten years without removing them, part of the problem is on your part because you have not been using that land. So, even if you have got a court order, you must make sure that, that process of eviction is done in a humane and dignified manner in terms of the Constitution of Kenya."
