Irrespective of whether it is coffee, wheat, cotton and maize, farmers should be paid within 14 days or earlier, even after delivery. Delayed payments have resulted in low production due to lack of funds to purchase farm inputs. Farmers are living in poverty due to the huge losses that have been incurred from interests accrued from loan advances to sustain their families. To boost farming in our country and help farmers to sustain their families, I urge the House to support this Motion for the poor farmer in Uasin Gishu, Nyamira and Meru. I beg to support the Motion."
