It is unfortunate that the cruel hand of death has snatched one of Kenya’s best brains who has worked for the development of this nation and who was eager and ready to take the Nyeri County to greater heights of development. On behalf of the Senate and my own behalf, I wish to take this opportunity to condole with the family of the late Hon. (Dr.) Gakuru, the good people of Nyeri County and the country at large. May his soul rest in eternal peace. I also take this opportunity to wish his driver and other staff quick recovery. In honour of this great son of Kenya, let us all rise and observe a minute of silence."
